Altana acquires Valspar's overprints varnishes business

Altana (Wesel, Germany) says it has acquired the European business for waterborne and UV overprint varnishes of Valspar (France). The business had sales of less than €8 million ($10.9 million) in 2012, primarily in Europe, Altana says. The business will be integrated into the graphics arts business within the Actega division at Altana, the company says. "With this acquisition we are taking over additional know-how, technologies, and customers in our rapidly expanding graphics arts business line," says Roland Peter, president/Actega at Altana...
