People & Business :: Companies Airgas Increases Guidance, Earnings Rise 17%10:44 AM MDT | October 27, 2011 | Vincent Valk Airgas fiscal second-quarter earnings rose 17% year-on-year, to $77.7 million, or $1.01/share, on sales up 12%, to $1.19 billion, the company says. Excluding an asset impairment charge, earnings totaled $1.03/share, slightly exceeding analysts’ consensus of $1.02/share, according to Thomson One (New York). Same-store sales grew 10% year-on-year, while sales increased 2% sequentially. The company has also increased its full-year earnings guidance for fiscal 2012 to $3.97-$4.07/share, up from $3.90-$4.05/share. The new guidance represents a 19%-22%...
