Air Products Earnings Slide on Higher Energy Costs

Air Products fiscal second-quarter net income fell 2% year-on-year, to $279 million, largely due to higher energy costs. Including discontinued operations, earnings fell 3%, to $296 million. Earnings totaled $1.31/share, slightly short of analysts’ consensus of $1.32/share, as reported by Thomson Reuters (New York).
