AECI's Profit Soars 48% in First Half of 2010

AECI (Johannesburg), South Africa's mining and chemicals group, reported a 48% increase in operating profit in the first half of 2010 to R484 million ($66.3 million) on sales 3% higher at R5.43 billion. Recovery in the mining and manufacturing sectors contributed significantly to the group's improved results but the company does not expect the same level of volume improvement in the second half of the year.
