People & Business :: Companies Merck & Co. and Schering-Plough Complete $41.1-Billion Merger10:25 PM MST | November 3, 2009 | Deepti Ramesh Merck & Co. (Whitehouse Station, NJ) and Schering-Plough (Kenilworth, NJ) say they have completed their previously announced merger, and the companies will begin combined operations today. Merck agreed in March 2009 to acquire Schering-Plough for about $41.1 billion in a stock and cash transaction. The combined 2008 revenues of the two companies total $47 billion, and the merger creates a mega-pharma company.
