Wacker acquires majority stake in silicon wafer jv with Samsung

Wacker Chemie said today that its silicon wafer subsidiary Siltronic has increased its stake in Siltronic Samsung Wafer (Singapore) from 50% to 78%. Siltronic and Samsung Electronics signed the contracts today. Samsungâ€™s share in the jv will drop to 22%. The joint venture will, at the same time, repay all the outstanding project loans of some â‚¬210 million ($288.3 million) with Siltronic contributing about â‚¬150 million.
