TransGas to build coal-gasification for fertilizers in Brazil

TransGas Development Systems (New York) is planning to invest $2.7 billion for the development of a coal-gasification plant for the production of fertilizers in the state of Santa Catarina, southern Brazil, an area rich in coal deposits, the Brazilian Coal Association ABCM (Criciúma) says. TransGas is expected to start studies to identify coal supplies and a plant location, the association says.
