Taiwan scraps plans for complex

Plans to relocate a petrochemical project from Taiwan to Malaysia have been scrapped, sources in Taipei tell CW. CPC Corp. (Taipei) said last year that Kuokuang Petrochemical, an affiliate in which CPC held 43% and other Taiwanese players including Far Eastern Group and Chang Chun Group together held the rest, was in talks with the Malaysian authorities to invest in Malaysia, next to Petronas’s planned Rapid complex at Pengerang in Johor state, near Singapore.
