Syngenta buys US sunflower seeds company Sunfield Seeds

Syngenta announced today that it will acquire Sunfield Seeds (Chico, CA), a provider of sunflower seeds production and processing services. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2012. Financial details were not disclosed. Sunflowers, grown on about 25 million hectares globally, produce high value oil that is low in saturated fats.
