Sipchem begins commissioning of EVA-LDPE complex

Saudi International Petrochemical Co. (Sipchem; Al Khubar) says it has commenced operations at its International Polymers Co. (IPC) affiliate. Operations began on Thursday at IPC’s utility and offsite units with initial operations of some process units at the ethylene vinyl acetates and low-density polyethylene (EVA-LDPE) facilities at Al Jubail. Sipchem has 75% in IPC and Hanwha Chemical 25%. The plant is designed to produce 200,000 m.t./year.
