Sibur, Gazprom join forces in major petchem project in Russia

Gazprom and Sibur signed a memorandum of cooperation that envisages the construction of a gas processing plant (GPP) and a petrochemical complex at Belogorsk, Russia. The memorandum was signed today by Alexey Miller, chairman of Gazprom; and Sibur’s CEO, Dmitry Konov. The document outlines the framework for the implementation of the GPP facility. Feedstock is expected to be sourced from natural gas production centers in Sakha and Irkutsk, Russia, which Gazprom is developing under the company’s Eastern Gas Program.
