Shell studying LAO expansion at Geismar

Shell Chemicals said today that it is considering the addition of a world-scale linear alpha olefin (LAO) unit to its Geismar, LA, petrochemical facility. The project would add to a growing list of North American investments aimed at capitalizing on the region’s shale gas advantage.
