Sabic, Shell plan POSM, polyol plants as part of Sadaf jv11:53 AM MST | November 14, 2012 Shell Chemicals and Sabic have confirmed CW’s exclusive report that they plan to construct propylene oxide-styrene monomer (POSM) and polyol plants in Saudi Arabia. The companies agreed on 11 November to implement the project through an expansion of their 50-50 joint venture, Saudi Petrochemical Co. (Sadaf; Jubail, Saudi Arabia). Sabic and Shell will carry out a feasibility study for the POSM and polyol plants before making a final investment decision. Shell is expected to provide its technology for each plant.
