Report: Lanxess delays Triunfo styrene butadiene conversion

Lanxess has delayed the replacement of its emulsion styrene butadiene rubber (E-SBR) technology at its Triunfo, Brazil site with that for styrene butadiene rubber solution (S-SBR) production, according to Jornal do Comércio. The €80 million technology conversion was scheduled for completion at the end of 2014, however this has now been pushed to 2016, the report says. In the meantime, Lanxess has confirmed it is operating its E-SBR production unit at Triunfo at lower rates. The company said that E-SBR supply from the Triunfo plant as well as from the 185,000...
