Praxair acquires beverage carbonation firm for $1.1 billion

Praxair has agreed to acquire beverage carbonation firm NuCO2 from a Los Angeles–based private equity firm, Aurora Capital Group, for $1.1 billion in cash. The transaction is expected to close by the end of first-quarter 2013, pending regulatory approval. Praxair says NuCO2 is the leading provider of beverage carbonation to the restaurant and hospitality industries in the United States. The company's distribution network includes 150 depots serving 162,000 customer locations. The business is expected to generate sales of about $250 million for full-year 2013...
