NKNK to begin constructing cracker

Nizhnekamskneftekhim (NKNK; Nizhnekamsk, Russia), one of Russia’s leading petrochemicals firms, plans to begin constructing a previously announced petrochemical complex next year, according to Rustam Minnikhanov, president of Tatarstan Republic, home of NKNK. Minnikhanov’s announcement was made recently in his annual address to the republic’s parliament. The complex will be designed to produce 1 million m.t./year of ethylene. Lummus, a subsidiary of CB&I, has previously concluded a front-end engineering and design contract for the olefins facility...
