Mitsubishi Rayon and Daicel outline plans for acetate tow JV

Mitsubishi Rayon and Daicel say their joint venture, Toyama Filter Tow (Toyama City, Japan), which produces acetate tow for cigarette filters, started functioning today following approvals by relevant antitrust authorities. Toyama Filter Tow was originally established in October 2012 through Mitsubishi Rayon's spin-off of its acetate tow production operations at Toyama. Those operations then became a wholly owned subsidiary in which Daicel took a 35% stake. Toyama Filter Tow will supply product to both companies for independent marketing by each partner. Daicel...
