Methanex to restart plant, add capacity in New Zealand10:50 AM MST | March 6, 2013 Methanex says it plans to increase its methanol production capacity in New Zealand by 700,000 m.t./year, to 2.2 million m.t./year, by the end of 2013. Methanex has secured a new natural gas supply agreement, which will enable the restart of the methanol plant at its Waitara Valley, New Zealand, site in the third quarter of 2013, adding 500,000 m.t./year of production capacity. Methanex will also add capacity at its Motunui, New Zealand, site by increasing distillation to add another 200,000 m.t./year. The current estimated capital cost of these 2 projects is...
