Life sciences lifts Bayer's results; 2013 outlook confirmed

Bayer reported a “positive development” in its life sciences operations, comprising HealthCare and CropScience, in the first quarter but said that MaterialScience’s results were hampered by raw material costs. The company has, meanwhile, confirmed its outlook for the rest of 2013.
