Kinder Morgan to invest $58 million in chemical storage

Kinder Morgan Energy Partners (KMP) on Monday announced that it will invest approximately $58 million to expand chemical storage capacity. The sum includes the construction of methanol storage capacity in support of Methanex’s Geismar, LA, methanol project and the acquisition of a terminal facility in South Carolina from Quality Carriers. KMP has signed long-term contract with Methanex, which is relocating a 1 million m.t./year methanol plant from Chile. KMP will build, own and operate the new storage tanks and related infrastructure at its Geismar terminal KMP...
