Kaneka to construct acrylic fibers facility

Kaneka (Osaka) says that it will build a manufacturing facility for the company’s Kanekalon-Kanecaron acrylic fibers at the site of its Kaneka Malaysia subsidiary. The new facility at Kuantan, Malaysia will have production capacity for 12,000 m.t./year of acrylic fibers and will involve an investment of about ¥9 billion, Kaneka says. The facility is expected to become operational in October 2015, and will meet increasing worldwide demand. Kaneka has been manufacturing Kanekalon-Kanecaron at its Takasago, Japan plant since 1957, and the new facility in Malaysia...
