Ineos shuts down Hull VAM unit

Ineos is closing of its vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) facility at Saltend in Hull with a loss of 18 jobs, the company announced today. Ineos's VAM capacity at the site is 300,000 m.t./year according to IHS Chemical data. The closure does not affect Ineos's ethyl acetate plant at the same site, which will remain in production.
