Gail’s petchem sales fall

The petrochemical business of Gail India (New Delhi), a natural gas company, reports a 10% fall in sales in the fiscal first quarter, ended 30 June, compared with the year-ago quarter, to 9.93 billion Indian rupees ($162 million). Earnings figures for the petrochemical business have not been disclosed. During the quarter, Gail’s petrochemical production volume was 98,000 m.t. compared with 117,000 m.t. in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.
