Explosion at Pemex headquarters kills 25, injures 100

The number of people killed by the explosion at the headquarters of state oil company Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex; Mexico City) has risen to 25, press reports say. The explosion, which took place at about 4 p.m. local time on 31 January, also injured another 100 people. The cause of the explosion is not yet known and is under investigation. The explosion occurred in the basement of an annex building adjacent to the company’s 54-storey tower, reports say. Rescue workers have been working overnight to find employees who are still trapped in the building...
