Evonik to build amino acid production unit at Mobile, AL

Evonik Industries announced today that it will construct a methionine production plant at Mobile, AL to meet growth opportunities for the amino acid in dairy cow nutrition applications. The “low double-digit-million-euro range” investment will specifically add capacity for Mepron, which is methionine that is encapsulated in a patented blend of fibers that protect the methionine from degradation in the cow’s rumen.
