Dow says Saudi acrylic monomer plant complete

Dow Chemical says that its previously announced Saudi Acrylic Monomer Co. joint venture plant at Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia, has achieved mechanical completion. This is the first acrylic monomer production facility in the Mideast, Dow says. Dow acquired a 25% stake in Saudi Acrylic Monomer Co. with Tasnee Sahara Olefins Co. in 2009. Samsung Engineering and Linde were awarded the engineering, procurement, and construction contract for the project in 2010. The new plant will produce glacial acrylic acid and butyl acrylate to fuel regional, global and captive demand...
