Cinven wins bid to acquire CeramTec from Rockwood for $2 billion

Private equity firm Cinven (London) has won the bid to acquire CeramTec (Plochingen, Germany) from Rockwood Holdings (Princeton, NJ) for €1.49 billion ($1.98 billion), subject to adjustments, Rockwood announced today. Cinven beat off competition from 2 other private equity firms, BC Partners and Bain Capital. CeramTec accounts for 16% of Rockwood’s sales.
