Chemtura misses estimates

Chemtura reported fourth-quarter net earnings of $27 million, up 13% from the year-ago quarter, as strength in consumer products and agricultural chemicals offset weak conditions in the company’s industrial segments. Sales increased 8%, to $622 million. Reported earnings were 27 cts/share, up 13% from the year-ago quarter, but 13% below the average analyst estimate of 31 cts/share as reported by Thomson Reuters (New York).
