Chemtura files suit against California fire-safety rule

Chemtura has filed a lawsuit in Superior Court of California in Sacramento seeking to overturn California’s new fire-safety standard for upholstered furniture. The standard, which requires furniture meet a cigarette “smolder test” to be considered safe for the public, is weaker than the old standard, Chemtura says.
