Asahi Kasei to double HDI-based polyisocyanate capacity in China

Asahi Kasei Chemicals (AKC), an Asahi Kasei subsidiary, says it will expand production capacity for the company’s Duranate hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI)–based polyisocyanate at its plant at Nantong, China. The Nantong site is operated by AKC’s wholly owned Asahi Kasei Performance Chemicals (Nantong) subsidiary. Duranate capacity at Nantong will be doubled to 20,000 m.t./year by early 2015.
