Apparel industry group to phaseout PFOA by 2015

Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC), a group of leading apparel and footwear brands and retailers, has agreed to timelines for a phase out of perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), or C8, chemistry by January 2015, the group announced today. "To achieve the goal of systemic change and commercialization of new, preferred alternative chemistries, we will need to transform the industry’s manufacturing inputs and processes.
