Air Products begins operating DOE carbon capture project

Air Products announced that is has successfully begun operating its carbon recovery project at Port Arthur, TX as a part of the US Department of Energy’s (DOE) Demonstration Project that will capture about one million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually, with an additional 1.6-3.1 million barrels of oil expected to be produced annually from the CO2 injection, DOE says. The project is a part of DOE’s Industrial Carbon Capture and Storage (ICCS) program, and the first phase of the two-stage project was completed in January. Air Products’ project recovers...
