Agrium earnings jump on early fertilizer application in the US

Agrium released its fourth quarter earnings results yesterday, with strength spotted in both income and sales figures. Net earnings for the quarter were $354 million, up 83% year-on-year (YOY). Earnings per share of $2.16/share exclude a $22 million credit investment and an $18 million recovery in share-based payment expenses and were higher than analyst estimates of $2.00/share, according to Thomson Reuters (New York).
