Ag results lift FMC's profits

FMC’s fourth-quarter net income rose 31% year-on-year (YOY), to $102.2 million, on revenues up 10%, to $1 billion. Excluding special charges–which totaled $9.4 million in the fourth-quarter of 2012 and $33.7 million in the year-ago quarter–earnings were up 2% YOY, to 81 cts/share, matching analysts’ consensus, according to Thomson Reuters (New York). “We ended 2012 with a solid fourth quarter, led by the strong performance of the agricultural products segment, which more than offset lower results in specialty and industrial chemicals segments,” says...
