Rhodia and Cobalt Planning n-Butanol Biorefineries in Latin America10:36 AM MDT | October 26, 2011 Cobalt Technologies (Mountain View, CA), a company commercializing biobased n-butanol as a renewable chemical and fuel, says it has signed a memorandum of Rhodia to develop n-butanol refineries based on bagasse throughout Latin America. Rhodia says biobased n-butanol will enable it to extend its Augeo-brand range of renewable-based solvents, which are currently derived from glycerin. The solvents are used in paints and varnishes.
