Ecolab to Buy Mexican Water-Treatment Firm

Ecolab has announced plans to purchase Quimiproductos, a maker of cleaning, sanitizing, and water treatment products, for $35 million. Quimiproductos sells mainly to the beverage and brewery markets in Mexico; the company also operates in Central and South America. The company is a subsidiary of Fomento Economico Mexicano (Monterrey, Mexico), a beverage holding company.
