(Philadelphia), a privately held investment group, has acquired BWA Water Additives (Manchester, UK) from Seera Investment Bank (Bahrain) in a deal valued at around $300 million. BWA is leading producer of antiscalants, corrosion inhibitors and biocides. Seera acquired the company from Close Brothers Private Equity (London) in late 2008. Close Brothers acquired BWA as part of a May 2006 management buyout of Chemtura's water additives business. Berwind’s other specialty chemical holdings include Colorcon, a maker of film coatings...
