AECI to acquire Clariant’s water treatment business in Africa

Clariant says that it has signed an agreement to divest its water treatment business in Africa to AECI (Johannesburg), for 34 million Swiss francs ($37.9 million) in cash, at closing. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the second quarter. The water treatment business of Clariant provides chemicals, services, and engineering solutions to a range of industries, such as mining, automotive, food and beverage, and metals; the business also serves municipalities to ensure supply of drinking water in many African communities, the company says...
