Slow-Growing Textile-Chemical Industry Restructures

Demand in the slow-growing global textile chemical market is expected to be flat at best this year, a situation that has prompted several suppliers to restructure these operations or put them up for sale. Even at the height of the pre-recession boom, this market was only projected to grow at a GDP-paced 2.8%/year, to $19 billion by 2012, says market research firm Freedonia Group (Cleveland), which has not updated this data since the recession started.
