Income totaled $1.17/share, short of analysts’ consensus of $1.28/share, as reported by Thomson One (New York). The company’s fourth-quarter volumes rose 5% year-on-year, while selling prices rose 19%. Net sales in the surfactants segment rose 24% year-on-year, to $331.4 million, as volumes rose in agricultural, oilfield and biodiesel applications, offsetting weakness in consumer applications in North America.
