BASF Sells Surfactants Plant in Texas

BASF says it has agreed to sell its Clear Lake, TX surfactants plant to Clear Lake Chemicals (CLC; Pasadena, TX), a subsidiary of Gulf Bayport Chemicals (GBC; Houston), which was formed in 2004 to acquire Lonza’s Bayport, TX site. Terms were not disclosed. About 15 employees will be transferred to CLC. The sale does not include products currently manufactured by BASF at the site, however, and under the deal CLC will toll-manufacture specialty surfactants for...
