Earnings totaled $1.97/share, beating analysts’ consensus of $1.90/share, as reported by Thomson Reuters (New York). Volume increases in all the company’s business segments drove the higher earnings. Surfactant sales were up 7% year-on-year, to $347.2 million, on higher volumes in North America and Latin America. Segment gross profit rose 14%, to $54 million.
