UOP technology selected for isobutylene project in China

Honeywell says that C4 Oleflex technology, supplied by the company's UOP subsidiary, has been selected by Longgang Chemical (Qingdao, China) for use at Longgang's facility at Dongying, China. The technology will be used to convert refinery-derived isobutane to isobutylene, used in the production of fuels and synthetic rubber. UOP will also provide basic engineering, catalysts, adsorbents, specialty equipment, and engineering for the project, Honeywell says. The unit, with capacity to process 175,000 m.t./year of mixed butane, is expected to start up in 2015...
