Markets :: Specialty Chemicals :: Printing inks Altana Buys Aquaprint's Assets5:35 AM MDT | March 22, 2010 | Natasha Alperowicz Altana (Wesel, Germany) says it has agreed to acquire the business of coatings manufacturer Aquaprint (Oyten, Germany). Aquaprint primarily makes coatings for in-mold labels and other labels as well as water-borne overprint varnishes for use on paper, cardboard and foils. The business has "single-digit million euro" annual sales and Altana is paying roughly that for the acqusition, which is an asset buy only. Altana will be taking over Aquaprint's customers and know-how as well as its plants at Oyten. The deal does no include Aquaprint's employees...
