Markets :: Specialty Chemicals :: Printing inks Altana Acquires U.K. Firm2:27 PM MDT | July 31, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Altana (Wesel, Germany) has agreed to buy the effect pigments business of Wolstenholme Group (Darwen, U.K.) for €24 million ($32 million) from private equity firm Rutland Partners (London). The business makes bronze and aluminum pigments and printing inks for the graphic arts and coatings industries, and has sales of about €29 million/year. No assets or employees will transfer to Altana. The firm’s Eckart effect pigments subsidiary will instead invest €10 million to raise capacity at Güntersthal...
