Altana Acquires U.K. Firm

Altana (Wesel, Germany) has agreed to buy the effect pigments business of Wolstenholme Group (Darwen, U.K.) for €24 million ($32 million) from private equity firm Rutland Partners (London). The business makes bronze and aluminum pigments and printing inks for the graphic arts and coatings industries, and has sales of about €29 million/year.
