Sensient Posts First-Quarter Gains, Increases Full-Year Guidance

Sensient Technologies reported net earnings of $28.9 million for its fiscal first quarter ended March 31, 9% higher than the same year-ago quarter.  Sales were 5% higher, to $366 million. Earnings of 58 cts/share narrowly beat analysts’ estimates of 57 cts/share, as reported by Thomson Reuters (New York).  The company’s color segment reported a 14% increase in operating income, on sales 5% higher, to $131 million.
