Titanium Dioxide Weakness Sparks Concern About Outlook

Easing supply and recent price weakness in titanium dioxide (TiO2) is raising questions about whether the market has hit a short-term correction or whether there is cause of concern about a more serious decline. After a long period of depressed margins and limited investment, TiO2 supply has tightened in the past two years year and prices have risen sharply in rutile and ilmenite, the two crystalline forms of TiO2.
