Resin capacity expansions and stricter environmental regulations have prompted plastics additive makers to follow suit, increasing capacity and rolling out new bio-based materials aimed at meeting new rule requirements. Meanwhile, higher raw material and operating costs have prompted a string of price increases for certain additives during the past few months, companies say.
