PlastIndia: India’s Plastics Industry to Expand Through 2015

India’s plastics industry is expected to grow at about 5%/year through 2015, the highest growth rate in Asia, Pratibha Devisingh Patil, president of India, said during an inauguration ceremony at PlastIndia, a triennial plastics show, held recently in New Delhi. “During the coming few years, polymer consumption in India is likely to go up to 11 million m.t. from the current level of about 5.8 million m.t., as we expand our infrastructure,” Patil says.
