Evonik Industries Buys Altana's PU Foam Stabilizers Business

Evonik Goldschmidt, a unit of Evonik Industries, has acquired Altana's small Silbyk polyurethanes (PU) foam stabilizers business, based at Wesel, Germany. The business, a part of Altana's BYK additives and industries division, reported sales of €5 million ($6.4 million) in 2009. The transaction includes customer list and expertise in the manufacture of Silbyk products for the PU foam industry.
